特別セミナー2021文化を巡る政策最前線
文化政策コースでは、各分野における専門家をお招きし特別セミナーを開催しています。第75回では「ミュージアムの新たな可能性 」をテーマに、ウエールズ国立博物館（カーディフ）館長のお話をお伺いいたしました。
＜受講者による感想＞
ウエールズ国立博物館は、現地に続く文化を後世に伝える上で重要な価値があると感じました。加えて、社会的に弱い立場にある人（課題を抱えた子ども、難民、人種的マイノリティ等）が展示・ワークショップ等の活動に参加することに力を入れ、社会的包摂の実現にも貢献している点が印象に残りました。
昨今、財政難の中で文化事業・施設に公費を投入する効果を問われる場面が多くあります。このように、文化施設が地域社会に様々な点で寄与していることは、施設が長く持続していく上で大切であると感じました。

「ミュージアムの新たな可能性 ウエールズ国立博物館（カーディフ）」 ■内 容
The COVID pandemic has revealed the fractures and inequalities in our society. The UK as a political construct is finally being overwhelmed by multiple emergencies, including the destruction of nature, embedded structural racism, extremes of wealth and poverty, and the undermining of democracy by populist politicians. Wales, conquered by England in the 13th century, has struggled to retain its indigenous language and traditions of community action. In this seminar, David Anderson, Director of Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, will share the Museum’s journey over the last few years, as it responded to these crises. The Museum has developed a new ten year strategy, based on a commitment to social justice and cultural rights. When many museums in the UK hid behind a digital wall, Amgueddfa Cymru built on its extensive network of partners to continue to work with communities across Wales, as well as the nation’s health, social care and education sectors. The Museum of the future lies outside the walls.
